How to Set Up Calendar Sync with Claude (MCP Walkthrough)

Connect Claude to AllMyMeetings, then ask it to sync your calendars. Here's each step, including which tools Claude calls behind the scenes.

AllMyMeetings Team · · Updated October 23, 2026

This walkthrough sets up calendar sync from inside Claude. The example is a common one: you have a personal Google Calendar and a work Outlook calendar, and you want your personal appointments to block time on your work calendar without your colleagues seeing the details.

The same steps work in ChatGPT, which also connects with OAuth. For other clients, see the MCP server setup guide.

What you need

  1. An AllMyMeetings account. The free plan is enough for this example: it includes 2 calendar accounts and 1 one-way sync in Free/Busy mode. The MCP server isn't read-only on the free plan, so Claude can create the sync for you.
  2. Claude on claude.ai or Claude Desktop.

You don't need an API token. Claude connects with OAuth sign-in.

Step 1: Add AllMyMeetings as a custom connector

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the server URL: https://allmymeetings.com/mcp/calendar
  3. Sign in to AllMyMeetings and approve access.

Claude now sees the server's 21 tools. You don't have to name them; Claude picks the right one from what you ask.

Step 2: Ask what's connected

Start a new conversation and ask:

What calendar accounts do I have connected to AllMyMeetings?

Claude calls list-calendars-tool and lists your accounts and their calendars. On a new account, the list is empty, which is fine. Claude will connect accounts in the next step.

Step 3: Connect your calendars from the chat

Tell Claude what you want:

Connect my personal Google Calendar and my work Outlook calendar.

For each account that isn't connected yet, Claude calls initiate-calendar-connection-tool and gives you a sign-in link. Open it, sign in to Google or Microsoft, approve access and come back to the conversation. These sign-in screens are the one step Claude can't do for you, because the providers require you to approve access yourself.

Claude then calls get-calendar-connection-status-tool to confirm each connection worked.

Using iCloud instead? You'll create an app-specific password at account.apple.com and enter it on the AllMyMeetings page Claude links you to. The password works for iCloud Mail, Contacts and Calendars, and you can revoke it at any time.

Step 4: Ask for the sync

Show my personal Google events as busy on my work Outlook calendar.

Claude calls create-sync-pair-tool with your Google calendar as the source and your Outlook calendar as the destination, one-way, in Free/Busy mode. Once the first sync runs, your personal events appear on your work calendar as "Busy" blocks, and new changes from Google usually arrive within seconds.

In Free/Busy mode your colleagues see that you're unavailable from 2:00 to 3:00. They don't see "Dentist" or "House viewing". Attendees are never copied, so synced copies never send invitations. For more on this setup, see how to stop double-booking across calendars.

Step 5: Check it's working

Is my calendar sync working?

Claude calls get-sync-status-tool and reports whether the sync is healthy and when it last ran. If a calendar looks out of date, ask Claude to refresh it and it will call force-sync-calendar-tool.

What Claude did, in order

  1. list-calendars-tool: listed connected accounts and calendars
  2. initiate-calendar-connection-tool: created the Google and Microsoft sign-in links
  3. get-calendar-connection-status-tool: confirmed each connection
  4. create-sync-pair-tool: created the one-way Free/Busy sync
  5. get-sync-status-tool: checked the sync was healthy

Going further

More calendars or two-way sync. The free plan stops at 2 accounts and 1 one-way sync. Pro allows 4 accounts and 6 syncs, two-way sync, and the Full details and Private modes. If you ask Claude for something your plan doesn't include, it tells you the limit, and can start an upgrade with upgrade-plan-tool if you want one.

Cleaning up. Ask Claude to list your syncs and delete one you no longer need. It calls list-sync-pairs-tool, confirms with you, then delete-sync-pair-tool.

Day-to-day use. Once your calendars are connected, Claude can also check your availability across every calendar ("Am I free Thursday afternoon?"), find conflicts, and create, move or delete events. See what you can ask your assistant to do.
